String Plans

Go to Design -> String Plan from the system page or click on “Save & edit strings” from the Inverter page.

The String Plan displays;

 This page will show you:

  • Module groups: this is the same table as on the inverter page, but will hold information on the amount of allocated modules. Once the string plan is fully completed, all modules within all module groups should be allocated to a certain DC input on one of the inverters.
  • Selected inverters: as defined on the inverter page, these are not editable here.
  • Suggested string plan: on setting an inverter selection, Helios will try to calculate a suggestion for the string plan, based on the system design. This might not always succeed, depending on the complexity of the design.

This String Plan table will be populated automatically when the suggested string plan is adopted.

In the String Plan table, all inverters in the inverter configuration are shown, with all available MPPT’s and DC inputs.

Per DC input you can now set the number of modules in that string, and select to what module group these modules belong.

If a DC input will not be used, just leave the number of modules at zero.

The string plan is completed when the modules in all modules groups are allocated in the correct manner, so that all the numbers match and all strings are valid.

Please note: The inverter selection is updated every time you save your system design, your string plan will be deleted. Avoid manual changes until system design is complete.

When setting up the string plan, Helios will check directly if the strings are valid and the string plan is complete. It will check whether voltages and currents for all strings are in line with inverter specifications and whether strings connected to the same MPPT have the same number and type of modules, pitch and azimuth.
